Set of three original vintage Butterfly wall shelves, designed by Danish designer Poul Cadovius for CADO. A rare version of the iconic Butterfly design in lacquered metal, here as a particularly beautiful set in three different original colors: orange, turquoise/blue, and purple/magenta. Cadovius was one of the important innovators of Danish mid-century furniture design and became known for his light, modular wall furniture. With these Butterfly shelves, a very graphic, almost sculptural form is created with a minimal amount of material. The shelf consists of a single folded metal shape that appears to float on the wall. Individually, they are beautiful as small wall objects or book/display shelves, but it is precisely the combination of different colors that makes this set special. The three pieces still have their original lacquer and original colors. They are in good authentic vintage condition, with minor signs of wear and paint loss appropriate for their age.
