Product description
This set consists of three Barstools of the Kreuzschwinger model, designed by the German architect and designer Til Behrens. The chairs are characterized by their construction of chrome-plated steel and black leather. The design is a remarkable example of 1980s postmodernism and is known for its innovative, cantilevered form based on a crossed frame structure.
The structure of each stool consists of a delicate yet stable frame made of chrome-plated steel wire, which forms both the backrest and the base. The seat is upholstered with genuine black leather, quilted in horizontal strips for comfort. This design was manufactured in Germany and gained recognition through its inclusion in the collections of renowned institutions such as the Vitra Design Museum and the Neue Sammlung in Munich, underscoring its status in design history.
The overall condition of the set is good, reflecting careful use. The chrome frame retains its original shine, and the leather has developed a slight, characteristic patina that comes with age. One leather seat has slight damage but is fully functional. The chairs are structurally sound and retain their original aesthetic integrity.
These Barstools are an elegant addition to a kitchen island, a home bar, or a high work table. Their sculptural yet functional design fits well with modern, minimalist, or industrially designed interiors, adding a touch of design history to any room.
