A set of two Dining chairs, model SM07, designed by Cees Braakman for the Dutch manufacturer Pastoe. This design is a characteristic example of post-war Dutch furniture art, known for its minimalist and functional aesthetic. The chairs are made with a sleek, geometric frame of black lacquered metal. The seat and backrest are upholstered with a coarsely woven orange textile, which adds a vibrant color accent and a pleasant texture to the industrial design. The SM07, introduced in 1958, is a celebrated piece within Braakman's oeuvre and Pastoe's collection, embodying the principles of 'Goed Wonen' modernism.
