This set of two Flötotto Pagholz chairs is an excellent example of functional and durable post-war design. The design is characterized by the organically shaped seat shell that seamlessly transitions into the backrest, ensuring an ergonomic and comfortable seating experience.
The seat shells are crafted from Pagholz, an innovative material in which wood veneer is compressed with synthetic resin under high pressure and temperature. This process results in an extremely strong, flexible, and scratch-resistant seat with a warm, brown wood grain. The base consists of a chrome-plated tubular frame with a sled design, giving the chairs a slight springiness and an airy appearance.
The chairs are in good condition commensurate with their age and use. There is some corrosion on the legs. The original finish of both the wood and the chrome has been preserved, contributing to the authentic character of these vintage pieces.
These Flötotto chairs look excellent in an industrial or vintage interior. They are ideal as dining chairs or as a characterful addition to a home office or creative workspace.
