This is a set of two Chair One chairs, designed by Konstantin Grcic for the Italian manufacturer Magis. The design is a landmark of early 21st-century furniture, celebrated for its radical, skeletal structure derived from geometric principles.
The seat shell is constructed from die-cast aluminium, finished in a white polyester powder coat. This rests upon legs of polished aluminium, creating a subtle contrast in texture and finish. The use of advanced industrial processes allows for a lightweight yet remarkably strong form, suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments. The chair's faceted, three-dimensional shape was developed to use the minimum amount of material necessary, resulting in its distinctive, graphic silhouette.
