Just Meyer was born on West Java (Indonesia) and moved to the Netherlands with his family around the age of eleven. Once in the Netherlands, father Meyer started the Kembo furniture factory together with designer Willem Gispen .
Although Just trained as an architect, he was so fascinated by design after his studies that he managed to realize his first chair design for Kembo during the weekend. This design was so successful that he continued to design furniture. A few years later Kembo was taken over by Just and his two brothers.
In 1989, Just founded a new company together with his son Eelco: Indecom Furniture Design. Indecom gave Just more freedom and flexibility and has focused on the international furniture market from the start.
