This is a set of two original Spaghetti chairs, designed by Giandomenico Belotti for the Italian manufacturer Alias. This iconic design was the first Alias chair to be included in the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York, confirming its status as a classic of modern design. Purchased in 1995 on Boulevard Raspail at Formes et Techniques Paris. The chairs have a lacquered steel structure in a subtle grey color. The seat and backrest are made from a continuous, woven PVC cord, a characteristic material that gave the chair its nickname 'Spaghetti'. This transparent cord provides a light and airy appearance while offering flexible comfort. The design is a prime example of Italian rationalism, where form and function seamlessly merge. This set is in good condition, consistent with its age and use. The structure is solid, and the PVC cord is intact, maintaining its shape and tension.
