Product description
This is a set of four candle holders, designed by the British designer Mathew Hilton. The pieces are made of cast aluminum and date from the 1980s, a period known for its sculptural and postmodern aesthetic. The candle holders are known by the nickname "Swan" due to their elegant, swan-like silhouette.
Each candle holder is cast from a single piece of aluminum, resulting in a seamless and fluid form. The silver-colored, matte finish emphasizes the industrial origin of the material, while the organic lines add a soft, sculptural quality. This combination of material and form is characteristic of Hilton's work and the design movements of that time.
The overall condition of the candle holders is very good, with a character consistent with their age and use. The original finish has been preserved and the structural integrity is intact. This set of four offers a symmetrical and coherent presentation.
These candle holders are a refined addition to a sideboard, dining table, or mantelpiece. They fit well within various interior styles, from industrial and minimalist to eclectic and modern design. The set functions both as a functional lighting object and as an autonomous decorative work of art.
