A set of two armchairs, model 1453, designed by Coen de Vries for the Dutch manufacturer Gispen.
The armchairs are constructed from a sleek brushed metal frame, providing a solid yet airy appearance. The armrests are made of warm wood, offering a natural contrast to the cool metal. The seat and backrest feature comfortable cushions, recently re-upholstered in a vibrant yellow textile with a subtle texture. The back of the cushions is finished in dark green. Minor damage on the back corners. See photos.
This set is in very good condition, retaining its original structural integrity. The recent re-upholstery gives it a fresh and contemporary look, making the chairs ready for immediate use. The design combines seating comfort with a timeless aesthetic characteristic of De Vries' designs from this period.
