Product description
This set of two Wassily armchairs was designed by Marcel Breuer and produced by Gavina in Italy around 1980. The design, originally from the 1920s, is an iconic example of the Bauhaus movement and is known for its revolutionary use of bent steel tubes. The chairs are crafted with a chrome-plated steel frame and feature black leather seats, backrests, and armrests. The construction displays the characteristic clean lines and industrial aesthetic that make the model a timeless classic. The original Gavina labels are still present on the frames, confirming the provenance and authenticity of this specific production period. The armchairs are in good condition commensurate with their age and use. The leather has developed a natural character over the years, and the chrome frame retains its structural integrity. This set fits perfectly into a modern or industrial interior. The chairs function both as striking statement pieces in a living room and as comfortable seating in a study or office space.
