About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a set of two Dining chairs by the German manufacturer Thonet. The chairs are a beautiful example of the cantilever design, a concept originating from the Bauhaus movement and characteristic of the brand.
The frame is made of chromed tubular steel and has a dynamic S-shape resting on a unique round base. This not only provides a sculptural look but also a slightly springy and comfortable seat. The seat and backrest are upholstered with a durable black textile fabric that beautifully contrasts with the shiny chrome. The chairs are marked with 'Thonet', confirming their authenticity.
This set is in good condition, commensurate with its age. The original upholstery and chrome frame are well preserved and have the character one would expect from vintage furniture. They are structurally sound and ready for a new home. Thanks to their timeless and minimalist design, these Thonet chairs fit perfectly into various interior styles, for example at the dining table or as accent chairs in a living room or study.
