Here is a pair of Charlie chairs, designed by Carlo Bimbi and Nilo Gioacchini for the Italian manufacturer Segis. These chairs are a great example of postmodern design from the late 80s and early 90s, known for their playful and functional aesthetic. The chairs have a chromed metal sled base, which provides a stable yet lightweight foundation. The seat and backrest are made from a single piece of translucent white plastic, featuring a grid pattern and perforations. The round backrest has an integrated handle, making the chairs easy to move. This design was developed and patented in Florence, Italy. Overall, the chairs are in good condition, consistent with their age and use. The originally light translucent plastic has yellowed slightly over time. There are tarnished spots on parts of the metal frame. Please refer to the detailed photos for this. The chairs are a versatile addition to any home and fit well into a modern or eclectic interior, whether at the dining table, in the office, or as extra seating.
