About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
A set of two leather sofas, designed by the influential Dutch designer Gerard van den Berg. These sofas are a testament to his distinctive style, where comfort and sculptural design come together. The design is characterized by low, wide armrests and a striking cylindrical headrest, creating a distinct and recognizable silhouette.
The sofas are fully upholstered in supple, red leather that rests on a sleek, dark base with metal legs. The construction is robust and focused on durability, a principle central to Van den Berg's work. The deep red color gives the furniture a warm and inviting appearance, while the design remains true to the principles of Dutch Design.
Over the years, the leather has developed a characteristic patina, contributing to the authentic look of the set. The sofas are in good, used condition and retain their structural integrity and seating comfort. The natural creases in the leather are inherent to the material and its use, telling the story of the furniture.
This set is versatile and fits perfectly into a modern or eclectic interior. The two sofas can form a spacious seating area together or be placed separately to create unity in a larger space. They offer comfortable and stylish seating that makes a statement in any living room or lounge.
