Two beautiful Gio Ponti, black, design, ladderback chairs, with two rungs on the sides and hand-woven rope seat. I cannot find the exact same chairs as these online. The construction is good and there is hardly any wear. The seat of one chair needs attention.

Gio Ponti Design represents the style and philosophy of the influential Italian architect and designer Gio Ponti (1891–1979), who is considered one of the founders of modern Italian design. Ponti combined sleek functionality with refined beauty and Italian flair. He designed everything from entire buildings (such as the Pirelli Tower in Milan and De Bijenkorf in Eindhoven) to furniture, lamps, ceramics, and glassware. His most famous designs are often minimalist and functional, such as the iconic Superleggera chair (1957) for Cassina, a feather-light chair that can be lifted with one finger.
In 1928, he founded the influential architecture and design magazine Domus, with which he profoundly shaped global taste and the revival of post-war design.
