Fine art silver halide photo | home decor | beautiful to frame.
A woman in a cream-colored coat with a fur collar leans against the stone balustrade and looks out over the Place de la Concorde. In the autumn mist, the Obelisk rises, Cleopatra's needle, an ancient Egyptian obelisk that Egypt gifted to France in the nineteenth century. Far behind the Obelisk, the Eiffel Tower is still just visible.
To the left is the statue of Bordeaux, one of the eight statues symbolizing French cities: Bordeaux, Brest, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Rouen, and Strasbourg. They were placed in 1836, when Jacob Ignaz Hittorf redesigned the square (1833-1846). The historic lampposts, the row of parked 1960s cars, and the green Parisian terrace chairs in the foreground create a timeless Parisian moment. From the square, you can also see the Madeleine and the Arc de Triomphe.
