Product description
The white, richly decorated neoclassical building of Carré, opened on December 3, 1887, as Circus Carré, in the low winter sun on the Amstel. In the foreground, a green Volkswagen Beetle is parked, further on a delivery van and a red sports car. Striking psychedelic posters in orange and pink, with the title "Salvation" on them, hang on the facade.
That rock musical premiered in New York at the end of 1969; the photo was taken in the winter of 1970. Through the foreground windows, you look as a passerby past the cars at the facade. A familiar piece of Amsterdam, with a warm nostalgic atmosphere of the late sixties and early seventies.
