Product description
An older man sits with his walking stick on a bench, seen from behind, looking out over an empty square. Before him rises the Kallio office building, designed by Heikki and Kaija Sirén and completed in 1965, the year this Photography was taken. The sleek, horizontal facade with its endless row of windows forms a sharp contrast with the small, quiet figure on the bench. In the foreground, autumn leaves lie in the grass, in warm orange and brown tones under a soft blue sky. A tranquil image about time, scale, and urban life in Finnish post-war architecture. The square medium format gives the composition extra calm and balance.
