About the photographer:
Steve Schapiro worked with David Bowie in the 1970s and captured him during a crucial transformation period between his Thin White Duke persona and his later work. Schapiro’s photos from this session are strikingly mysterious, glamorous, and loaded with symbolism — they are often seen as a visual translation of Bowie’s artistic evolution.
