Product description
1970s Thonet-Style Rocking Chair, Brass & Wicker, Mid-Century Modern
Charmy rocking chair from the 1970s inspired by the iconic bentwood designs of the 19th century, this chair showcases the enduring influence of Thonet’s innovative craftsmanship, reinterpreted through a 1970s lens the timeless aesthetic.
The graceful curves of the brass structure create a fluid, sculptural form that enhances both comfort and visual appeal. The seat and backrest are crafted from traditional Vienna wicker, meticulously woven to provide breathability and durability, while the seat is reinforced with a sturdy wood frame for additional support.
The combination of brass and natural wicker reflects a refined balance of materials, lending the piece a warm and sophisticated character. The gentle rocking motion and ergonomic shape make this chair a perfect addition to any space, whether used as a statement piece in a reading nook or as a stylish accent in a living room.
In very good vintage condition, the chair presents only minor signs of time, preserving its authenticity and charm. The brass has developed a beautiful patina, enhancing its vintage appeal, while the wicker remains in excellent condition with no major wear.
