Impressive antique extendable dining table crafted from elm wood and originating from Tuscany, Italy. When fully closed, the table features a round top measuring 135 cm / 53.1 in in diameter, with folding drop leaves that allow the table to become even more compact when not in use. The table comes with five separate extension leaves, each measuring 44 cm / 17.3 in, which can be inserted individually according to the required size. With all five extensions in place, the table reaches an impressive overall length of approximately 355 cm / 139.8 in, transforming into a large oval dining table suitable for accommodating many guests. The structure is supported by elegant turned elmwood legs, with additional supporting legs providing stability as the table is extended. The elm retains a beautiful aged patina, with natural grain, tonal variations and minor signs of wear consistent with age and use, enhancing the authentic character of the piece. A highly versatile and characterful Tuscan dining table, remarkable for its ingenious construction and its ability to transform from a compact round table into an impressive dining table measuring over three and a half metres in length.
