This striking candleholder is an original piece from the 1960s, believed to have been produced in former Czechoslovakia. Though the designer remains unknown, the sculptural geometry and use of mixed materials recall the aesthetics of Stanislav Koren for ÚĽUV and even echo Italian postmodernist design from the 1970s.
The body is crafted from a solid, rectangular piece wood, supporting three brass holders with round drip trays. The contrast between the warm wood and the reflective brass creates a sculptural, architectural quality that’s both expressive and minimal.
Subtle bent brass feet lift the piece slightly off the surface, adding visual lightness and a sense of quiet sophistication.
This is a sculptural and functional object that would complement any modernist, Scandinavian, or eclectic interior.
This candleholder is in excellent vintage condition with some patina on the brass parts.
