Product description
1950s Mid-Century Modern Brass Floor Lamp with Three Adjustable Gooseneck Arms and New Handmade Paper Shades, Czechoslovakia.
An elegant and highly sculptural three-light brass floor lamp dating from the 1950s, originating from Czechoslovakia.
This exceptional example of postwar European lighting design combines refined brass construction, adjustable gooseneck arms, and beautifully proportioned handmade lampshades.
The lamp features three slender brass stems rising gracefully from a circular weighted base. Each stem transitions into a flexible brass gooseneck arm, allowing the individual light sources to be independently positioned.
The three adjustable arms create a dynamic, organic silhouette that can be rearranged to suit different lighting requirements and interior compositions.
Each arm terminates in a black lacquered metal fitting with elegant brass detailing and an individually operated switch.
The three conical lampshades have been newly handcrafted from textured golden-yellow paper, carefully finished with decorative stitching along their edges.
When illuminated, the shades diffuse a warm amber light, creating an inviting atmosphere while emphasizing the elegant proportions of the lamp.
The contrast between polished brass, black lacquered metal, and softly textured paper reflects the sophisticated material combinations characteristic of 1950s European modernist lighting.
The lower structure consists of three gently curved brass stems gathered by a black central band, continuing downward into a distinctive tripod-inspired configuration.
A circular base with brass edging and a contrasting dark center completes the balanced architectural composition.
The result is a refined sculptural floor lamp that offers both functional versatility and exceptional decorative presence.
The flexible arms can be positioned independently, making the lamp suitable for ambient illumination, reading areas, and architectural accent lighting.
Its elegant proportions and distinctive silhouette make it particularly suitable for Mid-Century Modern interiors, contemporary living spaces, private libraries, design-focused residences, and sophisticated hospitality environments.
