Hand-painted Colonnata Ceramic centerpiece, made in the 1950s. The feet have some imperfections due to age, as shown in the images. Diameter 34 cm, Diameter 23 cm, Height 13 cm. Colonnata Ceramics was one of the most important and longest-standing factories in the Florentine ceramic scene. Founded in Sesto Fiorentino, it has been producing high-quality ceramic objects for decades, characterized by an elegant and refined design and decorations rich in artistic suggestions. Founded in the 19th century, Colonnata is distinguished by its production of ceramics and tableware for domestic use and for furnishing in rustic and modern styles. The company soon achieved considerable success, thanks to the quality of its products and the skill of its artisans. In 1893, Colonnata received an important international recognition, a gold medal at the Columbian World's Exposition in Chicago. Colonnata's production ranged from everyday objects, such as plates and dishes, to more decorative pieces, such as vases and sculptures. The decorations on Colonnata ceramics were often created with an airbrush, a technique that allowed for achieving blended and delicate effects. Colonnata produced ceramics in various styles, from Art Nouveau to modern, adapting to the tastes and trends of the era.
