Product description
This is the iconic Méribel stool, designed by Charlotte Perriand and produced by Steph Simon in the 1950s. The design is a beautiful example of Perriand's ability to combine traditional craftsmanship with modernist principles, resulting in a timeless and functional piece of furniture. The stool is crafted with a sturdy wooden frame finished in a deep black color, creating a strong contrast with the seat. The seat itself is expertly woven from natural cane, which not only adds texture and warmth but also bears witness to the artisanal techniques appreciated at the time. The cylindrical legs and cross-shaped base ensure structural integrity and a distinctive silhouette. This piece of furniture is in a condition consistent with age and use, preserving its character and authenticity. The original finish and patina contribute to the historical value of the object. This stool fits perfectly into a Mid-Century Modern interior but can also serve as a striking accent in a more contemporary or minimalist space. It is a versatile piece that can be used both as an extra seat or as a decorative element. 1950s Charlotte Perriand Stool Meribel Steph Simon. Full original.
