1950s Cees Braakman - Pastoe Oak Bar Cart
This beautiful 1950s oak bar cart was originally intended as a mobile bar, but it also serves perfectly well as a side table. With its charming wheels, classic design, and beautifully crafted handles, it can rightly be called an eye-catcher!
Cees Braakman is regarded as one of the Netherlands' most influential interior designers. He is known as the designer of the renowned Dutch design brand Pastoe, based in the Pastoe Factory in Utrecht. He took over the family business Pastoe from his father, so design literally runs through his veins!
As early as 1934, when he was only seventeen years old, he began working for the Pastoe brand. In 1945, he took over the reins from his father as head of the design team. Cees Braakman's designs are characterized by simplicity and are therefore timeless. As a result, Braakman's designs remain highly sought after!
The glass shelves in the bar cart have a few scratches. One of the doors has a small chip. The wheels have some patina, and unfortunately, one glass sliding door is missing.
