Product description
Chaise paillée attributed to Charles Dudouyt, 1940. A chair known as a "fireplace chair" or "fireside chair", Art Brutalist. This solid oak model is very comfortable with its wide, solid straw seat. Born in 1885, charles dudouyt began his artistic career after studying at the germain pilon school. He painted, drew and made a living illustrating publications, notably for calmann-levy and l'assiette au beurre. In 1933, he moved to paris and, opting for a contemporary style, founded la gentilhommière, which includes a workshop and a store where he makes furniture, floor lamps and decorative objects. 73 X 49 X 43 cm. Seat height 32cm In very good overall condition, with some traces of wear (scratches) and patina to the wood. Clean, fast and careful delivery.
