Product description
Original French double-sided oil painting on panel, dated 1930, presented in a rustic period wooden frame.
The main side depicts three geese in a sunlit village courtyard, surrounded by pale old buildings and warm ochre ground. The painting is executed with a lively, expressive touch and visible impasto, giving the surface strong texture and character.
The reverse side reveals a second composition: a boat by the water, with trees, yellow flowers and small buildings in the distance.
The painting is signed with the first name “Robert”; the surname remains difficult to read and the artist has not been identified with certainty.
A highly decorative and authentic piece, with a strong French country / Mediterranean atmosphere.
