Elegant Art Deco oval side table produced in Czechoslovakia during the 1920s.
Crafted from beech wood and beech plywood, the table displays the refined craftsmanship characteristic of Central European furniture from the interwar period. Its oval tabletop is supported by four slender legs incorporating rhythmic turned details, while an additional oval lower shelf provides a practical display surface.
At the base, crossed wooden stretchers create a strong geometric composition and provide structural stability. The contrast between the rounded tabletop, decorative turned supports and geometric base gives the piece an appealing transitional character between traditional Central European furniture making and emerging Art Deco modernism.
The rich dark finish highlights the natural grain and warm tones of the beech wood. With its compact proportions, the table works particularly well as a side table, occasional table, entryway table or decorative accent piece.
Carefully refurbished and finished with traditional shellac polish, minor signs of use and age.
