Set of 10 vintage S45 dining or side chairs by Pierre Chapo made of solid elm ca. 1970s. Can be sold separetly, contact us.
The S45 is composed of numerous small wood sections joined and glued to each other. This process enabled Chapo to design a fine, lightweight structure with slender lines. The S45 chair is technically and conceptually difficult to make. The user's weight rests mainly on the crossed "Chlacc" feet and the solidity of the back is ensured by being secured to the tro back legs which stand at the seven sections of the chair. The S45 is one of the most sculptural creations in the Chapo catalog, a design that bears not a passing resemblance to the iconic tower in the capital where its creator was born.
