This is a porcelain collector's plate by the German manufacturer Rosenthal, featuring a work by the Swiss artist Hans Erni. The piece, titled "Pferdespiel", is part of the limited edition series "Die dynamischen Pferde" and showcases Erni's distinctive and dynamic style, making it a desirable object for lovers of Art and design.
Crafted from the finest white porcelain in 1992, the plate is adorned with an intricate illustration that captures the movement and energy of two horses. The composition uses an earthy color palette of brown and black against a white background, accented by swirling white lines and an elegant gold rim. On the reverse, the plate is numbered (3909 H) and certified as part of an authentic edition limited to 75 firing days, produced in collaboration with the Hans Erni Museum in Lucerne.
The artwork, "Pferdespiel", depicts a white and a sorrel horse at play, their bodies intertwined in an almost pyramidal form expressing a sense of joyful movement. Erni's figurative yet modernist style is clearly visible, combining realism with an abstract energy that brings the scene to life. This piece is a testament to Rosenthal's mastery in porcelain production and Hans Erni's artistic genius.
As a display piece, this collector's plate fits perfectly on a credenza, in a display cabinet, or as part of a wall gallery. Its equestrian theme and artistic execution make it a sophisticated focal point in classic, modern, or eclectic interiors, adding a touch of European design history to any setting.
