The company Mazegga was founded in the Italian city of Murano in 1946 by Angelo Vittorio Mazzega. Murano, of course, is the city when it comes to blown glassware and at the time was a paradise for young glassblowers. Because of their design quality and functionality, Mazzega's light objects have been sought after by enthusiasts and collectors for decades. Over the years, Mazzega has collaborated with many internationally renowned designers such as De Lucchi, Pivamet, and Carlo Nason who himself grew up in one of the oldest families of Murano glass manufacturers. The Mazegga company continues to produce lighting in Murano to this day.
