History
Fontana Arte was founded in Milan in 1932 by Luigi Fontana, along with architect Gio Ponti. The company's goal was to create lighting that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Over the years, Fontana Arte grew into a leading brand in the design world, with collaborations with renowned designers such as Max Ingrand and Gae Aulenti.
Features
One of Fontana Arte's hallmarks is the use of glass in many of their designs. The brand has specialized in glassblowing, giving them unparalleled expertise. The combination of glass with other materials such as metal creates unique and elegant creations. Moreover, Fontana Arte places great importance on sustainability. The brand strives to create products that last and remain valuable, both in terms of design and quality. This makes the products not only aesthetically pleasing, but also environmentally friendly.
Iconic Designs
The brand Fontana Arte has produced several iconic designs over the years that have gained worldwide recognition. One example is the "Globo di Luce" lamp, designed by Roberto Menghi in 1968. This spherical lamp made of blown glass quickly became a symbol of modern Italian design. Another iconic design is the "Tavolo con Ruote" table, designed by Gae Aulenti in 1980. This table elegantly combines glass, metal and wheels and is a perfect reflection of Fontana Arte's design philosophy.
Different products
Fontana Arte offers not only beautiful lighting, but also a variety of furniture that fits perfectly into any modern interior. From sofas and armchairs to coffee tables and bookcases, Fontana Arte has everything you need to stylishly furnish your space.
One of the most striking pieces of furniture is the "Abo" bookcase, designed by Gae Aulenti in 1989. This bookcase consists of several glass shelves supported by metal supports. The transparent design allows your books and accessories to be beautifully displayed.
Another interesting piece of furniture is the "Ginger" side table, designed by Roberto Lazzeroni in 2016. This table has a round glass top that rests on an elegant wooden frame. The combination of materials gives this side table a unique look.
