Private sellerProduct description
This is an original silkscreen print by the Dutch artist Corneille, titled “Sentimental Journey”. As a co-founder of the influential CoBrA movement, Corneille's work is immediately recognizable by its childlike spontaneity and vibrant use of color, making this piece an excellent example of his distinctive style.
The silkscreen print is executed on paper and is part of a limited edition from 1997. As visible in the images, this copy is numbered 28/200 in pencil and signed by the artist. The palette is dominated by primary and secondary colors, including bright red, yellow, green, and blue, creating a dynamic and cheerful atmosphere typical of Corneille's later work.
The overall condition of the artwork is very good, with the colors having retained their original vibrancy. The signature and numbering confirm its authenticity and make it a valuable piece for collectors of post-war European art. The work is offered unframed, providing the opportunity to frame it to your own taste.
This silkscreen print makes a powerful statement in a modern, eclectic, or design-oriented interior. It adds an element of art-historical significance and an explosion of color to a living room, office, or hallway, and combines well with both vintage and contemporary furniture.
