Product description
Hey vintage lovers! As we are selling our apartment, we are saying goodbye to this absolute design classic. This is the iconic "Siesta" lounge armchair including a matching footstool (ottoman), designed by Ingmar Relling in the 1960s for Westnofa (Vestlandske) from Norway. The original brand sticker is still neatly on it (see photo), so 100% guaranteed a real vintage piece! Why is this chair so comfortable? The frame is made of beautifully curved wood and the tufted grey leather rests on a stretched canvas fabric. This allows the chair to spring wonderfully. It is undoubtedly one of the most comfortable relax armchairs available. This is the luxury version with a high backrest and comfortable armrests. Condition of the set: The wooden frame, the canvas, and the cords are all still in super sturdy and good condition. The grey leather has acquired a lived-in look over the years (vintage patina). There are some dry lines and light wear/discoloration on the leather of the footstool and armrests (see photos). No tears, just nicely lived-in. If you are handy with leather conditioner, you might be able to completely revive the leather! Dimensions & details: • Designer: Ingmar Relling • Manufacturer: Westnofa / Vestlandske Møbelfabrikk (Made in Norway) • Material: Tufted grey leather and curved wooden frame • Includes: Matching footstool Asking price: To be picked up for a reasonable offer around € 450,-. Bidding is allowed, but please be respectful for this design classic! Collection only. You are, of course, welcome to try it out first (and test how wonderfully comfortable it is!).
