This beautifully patinated solid brass Bohemian ceiling light is unmarked but has a real Teutonic feel, and is likely to have been made in Austria, Germany or the Czech Republic during the early years of the 20th century.
The sculptural brass body hangs from a brass chain, from which stem six scrolled arms, which terminate with articulated brass drops. The ceiling rose and centre sections are constructed from individually shaped pieces of brass cut and soldered, giving a crisp edge to the design. Even the bottom finial has been beautifully machined from solid brass.
The piece has been disassembled, gently cleaned to preserve the patination and professionally rewired to UK 240v specification whilst retaining the original brass and ceramic bulb holders.
