About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a set of two vintage armchairs, executed in a distinctive Mid-Century Modern style. The set consists of an armchair with a high backrest and one with a low backrest, a classic combination often referred to as a 'his and hers' set. The design reflects the aesthetic of mid-20th century Scandinavian design, with a focus on organic forms and functionality.
The frame of both chairs is crafted from warm-toned wood, with elegantly tapered legs that give the construction a light and airy appearance. The seat, backrest, and sculptural armrests are upholstered in black skai, a durable and easy-to-maintain material. Decorative button details on the backrest and at the transition to the seat add a refined accent to the otherwise sleek design.
The overall condition of the armchairs is good, in accordance with their age and use. The wooden frames are sturdy and the original upholstery is intact, with a patina that adds character. This set is an authentic example of vintage furniture design and retains its original charm.
These versatile armchairs fit excellently into various interior styles, from retro and vintage to a more eclectic or modern decor. They can be placed together as a seating area in a living room or used individually as comfortable reading chairs in a study or bedroom.
