About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is the Gravity Balance chair, an iconic design by Norwegian designer Peter Opsvik for Varier. The piece is known for its unique ability to support four different sitting positions, from an active kneeling posture to a fully reclined, almost weightless position. The chair's frame is crafted from light-colored wood, creating a flowing, sculptural form characteristic of Scandinavian design. The seat, backrest, and cushions are upholstered in a durable blue textile fabric that offers both comfort and a refined appearance. This specific piece dates from 2021 and embodies the ergonomic principles for which Opsvik is known. The overall condition of the chair is excellent, consistent with its recent production date. The wooden frame and upholstery show minimal signs of wear and have been very well maintained, fully preserving the original aesthetics and functionality. The Gravity Balance is a versatile piece of furniture that fits perfectly in a modern living room, study, or reading nook. It functions as a striking design object while simultaneously offering an unparalleled experience of relaxation and active support.
