About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a vintage anatomical model of a human torso, originally designed for medical education. The object offers a unique, detailed representation of human anatomy, with a characteristic design where the head is divided into a facial and a cranial half.
The model is made from a sturdy material, presumably an early plastic or composite, and is hand-painted to illustrate the various organs and structures. The torso is open-worked and contains various removable organs, including the lungs, heart, liver, and intestines. This didactic setup made it possible to study the internal structures of the body in detail.
The object is in a condition consistent with its age and intensive educational use. The visible signs of wear and the patina contribute to its authentic character and tell the story of its past in a classroom or medical practice. The overall construction is still solid.
As a Sculpture and historical object, this torso is an intriguing addition to an eclectic interior, a study, or a 'cabinet of curiosities'. It functions as a striking decorative piece that radiates both scientific history and a unique aesthetic.
This object is made of plaster. And comes from 1953 from Romania.
