Product description
Wood type: Iroko or sometimes called Kambala.
Rock hard and very difficult to chisel.
Few or no artists dare to work with it...
This is a set of two hand-carved wooden sculptures, depicting a male and a female torso. The works are crafted from a solid block of wood and display a refined, abstract-figurative style that celebrates the human form.
The sculptures are made from a hardwood with a warm, brown color and a clearly visible grain structure. The artist has emphasized the organic forms of the body through flowing lines and smooth surfaces, resulting in a tactile and visually appealing texture. Each figure stands on an integrated, rectangular wooden base that forms a robust contrast with the round shapes of the torsos.
The overall condition of the set is good, with a character that suits its age and the nature of the natural material. The warm patina and lively wood grain give the figures an authentic and timeless appearance. The set is presented as a duo and forms a harmonious whole.
These sculptures are a powerful artistic statement and fit perfectly on a dresser, a console, or in an open cabinet. They add an element of organic modernism and classical art to various interior styles, from Mid-Century to contemporary.
The figures can be sent to you via a courier at an additional cost. Or pick-up via Whoppah services.
