Inspired by Art Deco, this chest of drawers is entirely inlaid with rye straw, including the sides, top, fronts, and edges. The sunburst pattern in straw marquetry is present throughout the piece, creating unique and intense reflections that will change depending on the light or your movement in the room. Straw marquetry requires absolute expertise and mastery to transform this inherently natural material into a product and finish of the utmost luxury. Each straw is glued individually by hand; it cannot be done any other way.
The solid pine legs gradually recede, like stair treads, for a more modern look.
