Superb collector's vase from the pottery workshop of Tamnay-en-Bazois, in the Morvan, a testament to the regional production of decorative ceramics. With a baluster shape and flared neck, it rests on a matching pedestal.
Its flambé glaze, particularly expressive, plays on a rich palette of turquoise blues, anise greens, fuchsia pinks, and deep purples, speckled with black, creating a marbled and vibrant effect reminiscent of the "crackled" technique or the "chiné" glaze favoured by regional pottery from the 20th century. Pearlescent and iridescent reflections punctuate the body, enhancing the relief and depth of the decoration.
