Product description
This is an original steel engraving from 1858, depicting a picturesque view of Utrecht. The work is an authentic 19th-century piece, not a modern reproduction, offering a historical glimpse into Dutch urban architecture.
The engraving was produced by G. Hess, after a drawing by W. Cooke, and printed by G.G. Lange in Darmstadt. This print was originally part of the book 'Het Koningrijk der Nederlanden', compiled by Johannes Leonardus Terwen and published in 1858 by G.B. van Goor in Gouda. The work is framed in a wooden frame with an acid-free, layered passe-partout. The total dimensions, including the passe-partout, are 24 by 30 cm.
The overall condition of the engraving is good, consistent with its age. The paper has developed a characteristic patina that emphasizes the authenticity of the piece. The wooden frame and passe-partout protect the work and present it in a classic manner.
This framed Art is a subtle addition to an interior with a classic or eclectic style. It fits well in a study, library, or as part of an art wall, where it brings a touch of historical depth and refinement.
