Product description
A set of two Dining chairs, designed by the duo Karel Boonzaaijer and Pierre Mazairac for the Dutch manufacturer Castelijn. This model, known as the ‘Harmonica’ chair, is a prime example of Postmodern Dutch design. The design is characterized by its graphic silhouette and the contrast in materials. The chairs are crafted with an elegantly curved wooden backrest, featuring the distinctive horizontal slots that give the model its name. The frame is made of black lacquered metal, providing a stable and slender base. The round seat is upholstered with a purple wool fabric, adding a striking color accent to the ensemble. This set is in excellent condition, retaining its original structure and finishes. The combination of light wood, black metal, and purple upholstery is representative of late 20th-century aesthetics and testifies to the quality for which Castelijn is known. These ‘Harmonica’ chairs are a refined addition to a modern dining area or can serve as stylish objects in an office or living space. The timeless design seamlessly fits into various interior styles, from minimalist to eclectic.
