Description
The organic shape of the Serpentine Sofa, designed in 1950, is immediately recognizable - a sensual, curved form flows into a dramatic ottoman, creating a series of usable seating areas. Kagan found the rigidity of standard sofas incompatible with how rooms were actually used while entertaining guests. Moving furniture away from the walls not only facilitated good conversation but also created more wall space for artworks; the Serpentine Sofa has become a favorite among art collectors, celebrities, and enthusiasts!
