About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
An iconic dining table from the Pedestal Collection, designed by Eero Saarinen for the American manufacturer Knoll. This piece embodies Saarinen's philosophy of resolving the 'clutter of legs' under tables and chairs. The result is the famous Tulip shape, a timeless silhouette that is a milestone in 20th-century design history.
This oval dining table measures 198 cm in length, generously seating six to eight people. The tabletop is made of durable white laminate with an MDF core, resting on the characteristic tulip-shaped base. The base is made of cast aluminum with a hard-wearing white Rilsan coating, ensuring both stability and a flowing, sculptural form.
The design is approximately ten years old and is in good, used condition consistent with its age. The overall structure is solid, and the piece retains its original aesthetic power. The white finish is bright and uniform, giving the table its characteristic, clean appearance.
With its elegant and minimalist design, this Saarinen dining table seamlessly fits into various interior styles, from Mid-Century Modern to contemporary and Scandinavian. It is a central piece of furniture that combines functionality with a sculptural presence in any dining room or open living space.
