Roy Lichtenstein: "Triptychon, As I Opened Fire".
Poster drieluik van zeer goede kwaliteit en in uitstekende staat.
Dit drieluik is geënt op het stripboek "All American Men of War." De drie schilderijen in "As I Opened Fire" vertellen samen een verhaal, dat nog wordt versterkt door de zorgvuldig toegevoegde tekst. Dit werk vertegenwoordigt een revolutie in de kunst van de jaren 60. Formeel gezien maakte Lichtenstein gebruik van afbeeldingen uit de populaire cultuur. Hij verwerkte deze in een artistieke context door ze te vergroten, enigszins aan te passen en op doek te schilderen.
Nooit ingelijst geweest en is bewaard in een donker
archiefopslag tussen beschermend zuurvrij papier. De getoonde foto's zijn onderdeel van de beschrijving, de getoonde lijstmaat is ter illustratie en is niet bijgevoegd.
