RONALD BOONACKER (1955) is self-taught. Lives and works in Amsterdam, but also has a studio in Acapulco, Mexico. Boonacker is known for its brightly colored landscapes. He is inspired by the many trips he has made and continues to make to Spain, Italy and Brazil, among others. At the same time, each work is based on Dutch, traditional landscapes and still lifes. If Boonacker wants to capture a certain environment, he first makes a watercolor of it, which can later serve as a reminder when he starts a painting. The extremely warm feeling that the tropical beaches, islands and sunsets radiate in his work is related to Boonacker's positive outlook on life.
