This is a unique bowl, made with the special Japanese Raku firing technique. The object has an organic, almost sculptural shape that gives it a very distinct character.
The bowl is made of ceramic and shows the characteristic effects of the Raku process: a crackled glaze and dark, smoky accents. The base colors are beige and cream, contrasted with deep black lines. The irregular rim and the deliberate openings in the wall make it a fascinating piece. The work is signed on the bottom with the initials 'MA'.
The condition of the bowl is perfect; the rough edges and the crackle effect are a conscious part of the artistic design. It is a beautiful decorative object that fits well in a modern, minimalist or Wabi-Sabi interior, for example on a sideboard or in an open cabinet.
