Piet Warffemius (1956) is a Dutch visual artist. He trained at the painting department at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. His specialization was monumental (wall painting). He was a student of Aart Roos and Auke de Vries, among others. Since 1980, Warffemius has traveled extensively and incorporates the impressions and insights he gains into his work. The tribal art from Africa and Oceania in particular influences his work. From the late 1990s onwards, Warffemius' work became considerably more sober and he tried to achieve maximum effect with minimal means. After an experience in the Himalayas, he realizes that as a child he already had a strong fascination with nature. This connection is reflected in series of paintings and sculptures in which trees are central. Piet Warffemius, together with Sjoerd Buisman and Armando , is part of the Potsdamer Gruppe, a group of friendly German and Dutch artists who regularly exhibit together. This screen print is a beautiful large work, which is still in excellent condition. As you can see, an abstract tree is also depicted in this work. The work is hand signed by the artist. Make your own wall mosaic (see last photo) and mix vintage artworks with posters, photos and contemporary artists.
