About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a set of three chairs by the Italian manufacturer Pierantonio Bonacina, featuring a distinctive combination of woven leather and a sleek metal frame. The design is a well-known example of Italian modernism, celebrated for its light visual profile and expert use of materials. The set includes one armchair and two chairs without armrests.
The chairs are constructed with a tubular chrome frame that provides a sturdy yet elegant structure. The seat, backrest, and armrests are formed from tightly wrapped cords of brown leather, a technique that offers both comfort and a unique textural quality. This method of construction, often referred to as 'spaghetti' weaving, is a signature of the period and the maker. Produced in Italy, these pieces reflect the high standards of craftsmanship associated with the brand.
Overall, the chairs are in a good vintage condition, retaining their structural integrity and original materials. The leather has developed a character consistent with its age and history, and the chrome frames remain bright. This pairing offers a cohesive look while providing versatility in seating options.
These Bonacina chairs are well-suited for a variety of interior settings. They can function as distinctive dining chairs, stylish accent pieces in a living room, or as seating in a home office. Their timeless design complements Mid-Century Modern, eclectic, and contemporary spaces.
